Begging to be photographed...

I feel I must introduce you to the little girl in our family. Her name is Maura , which I read means "dark skinned girl" in Italian. She was left in a trailer court north of our town. The owner moved out and left her all alone in the trailer for 2 weeks. I found out about it and called the police . I offered to take her to the Humane Society. When I got there, the place was full and they said they would call me when they could take her. They called back 4 weeks later. 4 weeks too late. We had fallen in love and now we would not give her up for anything! She is now the queen of our house and we have had her almost 2 years now.

They do find a way into out hearts, those pets. I broke down one day and let my girls get a kitten. I hate cats! Many years later I sit here typing as my big, old kitten snuggles right up against me. Her name is Josha. There were three young girls here all in love with some boys named Joshua, thus Josha the female kitty. She is a keeper and I would be so lost without her. Mind you, I still am not fond of cats, but this one is part human :)

OH! I love hearing about rescue stories. I love dogs and would love to have one. But, my husband says not until we get rid of the cats. We have 6 of them! 2 rescues. 2 left on our porch. 2 kittens from the ones left on our porch. People down the road moved and left them on our porch!

Maura is beautiful - no wonder you couldn't give her up.

Thanks for stopping by and paying me a visit. Come again!

Love,
Julie

Maura looks very sweet tempered. That seems to be a theme with abandoned animals. They are so thankful for their new home! Our kitty Angel had a similar background and she is just the best cat around. She'd sit on my lap while I knitted and wouldnn't even touch the yarn.

So nice to visit. I love your banner. The colors are lovely and your Maura is stunningly beautiful. Her coat reflects the love and tlc she is enjoying. That is great about your cycling.

Well she certainly knows how to pose for a picture. And I know she appreciates her good home.

Hi! Thanks for stopping by my blog. I'm impressed with how many comments you have gotten for being so new! I didn't quite get the blogger thing and didn't get many comments for many months. :-)

Your scarf looks great. I love knitting and usually spend a few hours working on various projects every evening.
